I do not know if controversial Nollywood actress and ‘I can sing too’ star, Tonto Dikeh was serious about this or if it was all about one of her publicity stunts but as a special guest on Ebuka’s Rubbing Minds program on Channels TV yesterday, she claims that she does not the singer who was rumored to be dating her some time ago. When asked about her relationship with Iyanya, she said; “When I hear people say I have dated Iyanya before, I find that funny. I mean this someone I have only met once or twice. I am a fan of his music just the same way he is also a fan, but if I don’t even know him personally, how do I date him? Why they say these things, it is because they know I don’t respond to these things.” But she did admit that Mavin Music head, Don Jazzy was ‘her very first man’, no matter what that means.
tonto always have answers you cant nail her publicly.Ebuka you should know that. wink…
Yesterday Monday 19th August 2013, former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili (2006-2007) was present at the one-day dialogue session on the “Cost of governance in Nigeria” in Abuja to deliver a keynote address.
She said that over N 1 Trillion has been allocated to the National Assembly since 2005, according to Punch Newspaper.
The Nigerian chartered accountant also added that banks earned N 699 Billion as interests last year on loans secured by the government.
“Since 2005, the National Assembly members alone have been allocated N 1 Trillion. 82 percent of Nigeria’s budget cost goes for recurrent expenditure.”
She later continued that “a research conducted in the United Kingdom identified Nigerian legislators as being the highest paid in the world.”
The former Minster also spoke on her time under Obasanjo’s administration, saying “One major mistake of the government under which served was that we simply got into democracy and did not spend reasonable time getting every citizen; every leader and every institution to do away with militaristic ethos and principles from their minds.”
She later said “Things will improve through part-time legislation. It will also reduce the number of people who will go into the National Assembly. You must have means of livelihood so that you won’t have to depend on public funds”
So if you have ever wondered why Nigerian politics has been dubbed a do-or-die affair, the reasons are clear.(BN).
Being a celebrity comes with much responsibilities than one can envisage, many which include parting away some naira or dollar notes as the situation may demand whenever a respected celeb gets stocked in the midst of his loving fans.
Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid was today stoned by angry fans at the VFS Global Services, Lekki phase 1 over the Azonto Crooner’s arrogant attitude and his refusal to part away with some naira notes despite the much accolades he got from the cheering crowd who were so elated to catch a glimpse of their Superstar.
Wizkid who was dressed in a White T-shirt and a Red Sofa Shoe without any cap or sunglasses came in a black coloured Porshce Cayenne with covered number plates, the starboi who must have been sneaked into the VFS Compund came out into the waiting hands of a large number of cheering fans who wanted to shake and snap pictures with Wizkid. Obviously they wanted some naira notes as well #TypicalNaijaWay.
We confirmed that Wizkid who must have had his mind made up came outside the VFS Compound where he had gone to submit travelling documents for Canada and shunned the cheering crowd. All efforts to get Wizkid to snap pictures, shake or even show “some love” financially to the cheering crowd fell on deaf ears as Starboi completely ignored everyone as he walked arrogantly into the waiting Porsche Cayenne.
A Correspondent who was at the scene confirmed that Wizkid’s silence and arrogant attitude got the cheering fans pissed hence why they resulted into stoning the BET Award winner as he made to drive out. Unfortunately for Wizkid, one of the many stones caught his car side glass but the Pakurumo crooner never waited a second ***Escape Thingz***
The angry fans who complained bitterly placed a comparison between Wizkid and Durosoke Crooner, Olamide. They argued that Olamide would never ignore his fans as he constantly relates with the street hence why he’s never been mobbed or attacked.
Nearly two years ago, nude picture which many say had a striking resemblance to Mo’cheddah was sent as a tweet from the singer/rappers official twitter account. It was alleged that the nude picture was meant to be a direct message to the very married rapper and producer Eldee The Don but ended up being sent as a public message.in a recent interview, she was asked about the picture but she denied remembering anything as such and refused to make any comments or answer further question on the issue.maybe it was a Mo cheddah look alike or maybe bye gone should be bye gone. #JUSTSAYIN#
Reports in Spain say former Barcelona B manager Luis Enrique and Argentine Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino are favourites to replace Tito Vilanova after he stood down as Barcelona coach last week.
Vilanova was forced to quit in order to continue receiving treatment for throat cancer, and speculation about who might take over, with the new season looming, is gathering pace.
El Mundo Deportivo says a number of managers have put themselves forward for the role since the club announced Vilanova’s decision to step down on Friday. The paper says they include Spurs coach Andre Villas-Boas and former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
Amid a wave of protests which was drowned by jubilation from the ‘home crowd,’ a new Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), 18-year-old, Anna Ebiere Banner, was crowned at the banquet hall of the Bayelsa State Government House at the weekend.
Apparently dissatisfied with the decision of the panel of judges headed by accomplished businessman, Mr. Ini Okorie, which was at variance with a section of the audience who thought that the judges might have been influenced to favour the Bayelsa indegene, who also represented her home state, some of the audience faulted the decision.
Many in the audience were rooting for the 19-year-old, Miss Imo, Stephanie Okwu.
Produced by the Silverbird Group and sponsored by the Bayelsa State Government, MBGN 2013 which was the 26th edition was executed under the broad theme, ‘The Year of the Goddess.’
Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State used the opportunity to drive home the message of his government’s commitment to diversify the economy of the state from dependence on petroleum products to a reliance on tourism and agriculture.
Anna who will represent Nigeria later in the 2013 edition of the Miss World pageant in Jakarta, Indonesia, was immediately appointed Governor Dickson’s Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.
The MBGN 2013 was described by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke, as a celebration of the spirituality of the beauty of the Nigerian woman.
